  • Recovery Run Coaching is phenomenal; they're incredibly communicative, supportive, and go the extra mile to help me improve and grow as a runner. Since starting with Recovery Run, I've taken ten minutes off of my marathon time, run several trail ultras, and trained for my first 100 miler...and they've helped me to stay healthy and navigate any aches and pains through it all. I'm so grateful to Recovery Run Coaching for all they have done to challenge me and help me become a more confident runner!

  • I started working with Recovery Run Coaching in January 2023 after two decades of running and about one decade of constant stress fractures, plantar fasciitis, and sprained ankles. After pulling out of several races over the last couple years, I knew that if I ever wanted to train happily and healthily, I needed a coach in my corner. Working with Eric has helped me achieve all that and more! Given my history, I was especially excited to work with Eric and Claire because of their physical therapy expertise. They’ve helped me better understand the relationship between strength training, running, and probably most importantly, rest. They’ve helped me workshop my nutrition, figure out which types of aches I can run through and which I need to back off from, and grasp the importance of easy running and speed work. I’m setting PRs in my mid-30s I never thought I would and I’m excited not just to finish my next marathon later this year but enjoy every step of the way.

  • Over the years, I have had many aspirations for running and endurance events, with the goal of training in a healthy manner. I have pursued these with more or less success, as many of these efforts have been aspirational and required extending myself in ways that were previously out of reach. After training on my own for a marathon in 2022 and prodding Claire with endless questions, I began training with Recovery Run Coaching in January 2023 with the plan to attempt an ultra. I have had the pleasure of knowing Claire for many years and have gotten to know Eric in the process of working with them. I can confidently say they are an incredible and dynamic team. I do not believe that I would have had the confidence or preparedness for this effort without their consistent encouragement, structure, and attentiveness that helped me stay healthy and adjust to any difficulties that came up along the way. I can proudly say that I completed my first 50K in June 2023 with more elevation gain than I ever would have considered attempting, thanks to them. Claire and Eric have a team mindset and such a great approach to bringing others together around their love for running that they put their full effort into it. For anyone looking to grow in this sport and sustain healthy training for a lifetime, they are the coaches to work with.

  • After several years of running, I had found the limit of my own knowledge and experience when it came to how to train, how to fuel, and how to strengthen. My journey with Recovery Run started with the goal of becoming a stronger runner. In collaboration with Claire, I have reconnected with running in a more intentional way that has made me a stronger, more capable runner and has given me a better understanding of my potential– and inspires me to keep running for a long, long time.

  • I’m not new to running—pretty much been running since high school. I ran my first marathon in 2002. Since then, I’ve run more than 20 marathons, including some of the big ones in Philadelphia, NYC, Chicago, Washington, DC, and Boston. Over the years, I’ve coached myself (poorly) and been coached by others. But, nothing compares to the coaching I’ve gotten from Eric and Claire, the founders of Recovery Run Coaching. They’re not just any coaches—they are accomplished runners and they’re physical therapists. They have tons of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm. I could not ask for more supportive or communicative coaches. They take into account where I’ve been and what my goals are. In my case, it’s a marathon PR. They’ve crafted a plan to get me there and they make adjustments whenever my schedule, health, or attitude demands it. My recent Philly Distance Run time is proof that their plan and my efforts are working. With their continued help, I’m on my way!
